Today, Monday, the Ministry of Planning confirmed that the volume of imports of commodity materials and oil products during the year 2019 amounted to 21 billion dollars.
Ministry spokesman Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the total imports for the year 2019, of commodity materials and oil products, amounted to (20.9) billion dollars, equivalent to (24.8) trillion Iraqi dinars," indicating that " A decrease of (43.4%) was recorded for the year 2018, and it reached (37) billion dollars, equivalent to (43.8) trillion Iraqi dinars, with a compound growth rate of (-18.5%) for the year 2017.
He added that "the imports of the (non-oil) commodity materials amounted to (18.1) billion dollars for this year, equivalent to (21.5) trillion Iraqi dinars," noting that "a decrease of (46.8%) was recorded in the year 2018 when it reached (34.1). One billion dollars, equivalent to (40.5) trillion Iraqi dinars, at the current exchange rate for the customs declaration, and at a compound growth rate of (-21%) for the year 2017. "
Al-Hindawi pointed out that "the total imports of petroleum products in 2019 amounted to (2.77) billion dollars, equivalent to (3.28) trillion Iraqi dinars, a decrease of (1.4%) compared to the year 2018, reaching (2.81) billion dollars, equivalent to (3.33) One trillion Iraqi dinars, as the compound growth rate increased by (6.7%) over the year 2017.”
