The Ministry of Health and Environment announced that it has taken a package of preventive measures to break the chain of spreading Coronavirus.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry stated, "Since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, health ministry has always informed public opinion in Iraq in a scientific and transparent manner about the daily epidemiological situation, and that it adopts and publishes scientific facts through its scientific advisory committees and specialized committees that monitor the developments of the pandemic, and analyzes the data and gives future expectations on which the Ministry of Health is based in coordination with global health institutions.
The statement added, "The Ministry of Health confirmed during the repeated statements of the possibility of escalating injuries rates and the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, as a result of underestimating the instructions and preventive health measures by the majority of citizens, and their intention not to wear the muzzle, and the return of life to normal with all life facilities, especially the establishment of funeral councils, weddings and gatherings. Electoral conferences, and the failure of state institutions to adhere to preventive measures within their institutions. "
He referred to "the resumption of religious activities with human gatherings, such as group prayer, visits to the honorable shrines, markets, malls, restaurants, cafes and parks, the return of visits and social activities, and the resumption of social habits of greeting with shaking hands, hugging and kissing."
The statement stated, "One of the catastrophic reasons for the lack of commitment and following preventive measures is the presence of parties that openly doubt the existence of the virus in the first place, without holding legal authorities accountable, or the belief of some that the virus has weakened and receded as a result of the decrease in infections in the past weeks," pointing out that "some are promoting To the idea of reaching herd immunity, and there is no danger from the virus.”
