Iraq and France assert the need for making Mosul International Airport

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halboosi and the French ambassador to Iraq, Bruno Hubert, stressed the importance of expediting the construction of Mosul International Airport, and discussed developments in the political situation in Iraq and early elections.

"The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the continuation of joint cooperation, as a number of projects that will be implemented in Iraq were reviewed, including the establishment of Mosul International Airport and its most important stages, and an emphasis on The importance of expediting its completion," the media office of the Speaker of Parliament said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The two emphasized the importance of UN role and organizations concerned with electoral affair, to enhance citizen's confidence in the electoral process and its results.

During the meeting, both discussed regional and international developments and a number of files of common interest.

According to the statement, the French ambassador expressed his country's aspiration to expand the horizons of joint cooperation, stressing France's support for Iraq in all fields, in order to achieve development and stability.
