Germany records several cases of bird flu

512

On Saturday, German authorities confirmed that bird flu cases had been recorded in the states of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. The authorities called for intensifying monitoring of poultry farms, according to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture. The Federal Research Institute for Animal Health in October classified the risk of bird flu in Germany as high, given that wild birds transmit influenza across borders. The ministry stated that only individual cases of the virus have been recorded so far, according to "Bloomberg" news agency. Source: Agencies
