The Border Ports Authority revealed a plan to follow an automated electronic system for all ports, confirming that it is in the process of submitting a proposal to increase the quantities of goods contained in the import license.
The head of the authority, Omar Al-Waeli, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Sunday: "The authority has deliberate plans to adopt an automated electronic system for all border crossings. In return, we must give the Iraqi importer and merchant their right to be ready to implement this electronic process, which will limit corruption."
He stressed that "there is a simplification of procedures and a reduction in wages, in order to encourage trade, as well as the presence of very advanced steps by the border ports, and the automation team of ports and customs, in addition to that there are electronic procedures, electronic portals, and electronic verification, which will come into effect in the coming days." After completing all stages of this electronic platform. "
He added that "the commission is preparing to submit a proposal to increase the quantities in the import license, in the coming days," indicating that "every trader now gets a limited quantity to enter the goods, and this is what he is tired of, forcing him to review the Iraqi exhibitions again, to issue another import license every 3 years."
He pointed out that "the proposal will increase the quantities of goods contained in the import license, which leads to the merchant not reviewing the Iraqi Fairs Company during the year 4 or 5 times, in order to renew the license, so we will increase the quantities."
