The Ministry of Industry and Minerals confirmed that more than five thousand projects are under construction.
"The Ministry of Industry and Minerals has been working according to strategic plans and the government program from 2012 to 2020, and has taken upon itself to support and encourage the private industrial sector," Deputy Legal Director of Industrial Development, Ali Al-Nahim, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Nahim called for "eliminating red tape through Resolution 227 of 2020, which is the decision to own industrial lands for industrial projects," stressing that "if this law is applied 100%, then this will cause a boom in the local industry in Iraq."
Al-Nahim added, "The ministry now has a public company sector that operates according to Law 22 of 1997, in addition to the Industrial Development Law for the private and mixed sector No. 20 of 1998," noting that "there are more than 5,400 industrial projects under establishment ".
