MOH: Pfizer vaccine will arrive in Iraq early next month

The Ministry of Health and Environment confirmed today, Sunday, that the staff of the Pfizer Company that manufactures the Coronavirus vaccine will adopt the process of training the Ministry's health staff on vaccine methods.

The Director General of Public Health at the Ministry, Riyadh Al-Halfi, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the training of the health cadres of the ministry will be adopted by the staff of the company, which manufactures the vaccine," noting that "the contract with the company to buy the vaccine will take place within a week or two."

He added, "The vaccine will be available at the beginning or middle of next month," noting that "the ministry has developed a plan for the vaccine, including cooling."

The Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Tamimi, had confirmed earlier that Iraq will receive a Pfizer vaccine soon, indicating that the contract to import the Pfizer vaccine includes the provision of its own supplies.
