The Joint Operations Command reiterated that there are no armed demonstrations in Sinjar district, while noting that security in the district is administered by the Iraqi army, local police and national security.
The spokesman for the leadership, Major General Tahseen al-Khafaji, said in a special statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, had earlier instructed that the Sinjar district is free of any armed manifestations," stressing that "there are currently no forces in the district except the Iraqi army, local police and national security, while federal police forces are present in the border areas and outside the city of Sinjar.
