Today, Thursday, the Joint Operations Command confirmed the Iraqi Air Force's ability to maintain and repair F-16s.

The spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafahi, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The F-16 program has been operating since 2011, when a contract was signed and the technical staff were sent for training and prepared for the purpose of qualifying and receiving this type of aircraft."

He explained, "The technical staff and engineers have the ability to carry out the process of maintenance, arming and preparing this advanced fighter," noting that "most of the armies of the world do not have this type of fighters, as they need accuracy of work and high capabilities, especially the pilots who fly this type of aircraft." .

Al-Khafaji added, "Iraq has succeeded in preparing the infrastructure and technical and engineering staff to do a lot of work and rise to the level of ambition in the maintenance and maintenance of this advanced type of aircraft."
