Baghdad – INA

The joint operations command determined the strategic importance of opening the road linking Anbar and Samarra after it was closed for seven years.

The spokesman for the joint operations, Major General Tahseen Al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Sunday, that "the road that was opened lies in its strategic importance in linking northern Iraq with its west, as well as the regions of the central Euphrates, in addition to its importance in the movement and spread of military units."
