Accountability and Justice: An expected amendment to the law banning the Baath Party

The head of the Accountability and Justice Commission, Basem Al-Badri, confirmed today, Sunday, the existence of an expected amendment to the law banning the Baath Party.
Al-Badri told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is a trend going on in banning the Baath Party, which was approved by the House of Representatives in 2017, and the Party Department was assigned to the Electoral Commission, especially since the law has not yet been implemented, explaining that" the law is broad and includes many sanctions, Imposed on those who promote and glorify the Baath Party. "
He added, "There is a desire to make an amendment to the law by the House of Representatives and to be implemented by the Accountability and Justice Commission, and pending consideration by Parliament and the concerned authorities of this matter and to strive seriously to put matters under discussion to reach real results."
