National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji confirmed today, Tuesday that the Pope's visit to Iraq is important and contributes to supporting the country and reinforces the principle of interfaith dialogue.

The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji chaired today, Tuesday, the regular meeting of the Council of National Security Agents, which was held in the National Security Adviser building, in the presence of agents of the ministries and security agencies, and it took place during The meeting will discuss the files and topics on the council’s agenda.

He added, "The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs gave a briefing on the upcoming visit of His Holiness the Pope of the Vatican to Iraq, and the ministry's procedures and preparations to receive the important guest," adding that "the council discussed the topics on its agenda and took the necessary decisions regarding them."
