The Ministry of Education and the World Food Program began distributing fresh meals during the current academic year to 330,000 children distributed in 1,200 primary schools across the country.
A ministry statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated, "The important goal of the development project is to push the wheel of education forward, encourage pupils and students to attend, reduce school dropouts and combat malnutrition."
He added, "The selection of schools was done in coordination with the Ministry of Planning," noting that "a substance supported by vitamins and minerals will be given to help them focus on raising the scientific level, and providing them with enough energy during the school day."
