The Ministry of Planning confirmed that there is a serious direction for a real and basic partnership with the private sector, in the process of economic development. Today, Thursday.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ministry has robust directions to activate and improve the level of local production," indicating that "there are large sums going abroad to cover import requirements."
He added that "the agricultural and industrial sectors represent a basic pillar of development, and in the agricultural sector there are good policies that have resulted in a remarkable improvement in the gross domestic product, and this is evidenced by securing a group of important strategic crops that represent the food basket of the citizen, which are more than 26 agricultural products and crops to fill the local need.”
He continued that "in the industrial sector there are tendencies to support this sector and give it a better space," noting that "the common denominator in all these details is the Iraqi private sector."
He also emphasized that "the Ministry of Planning has a very serious approach towards clearing the way and providing the appropriate opportunity for the private sector to be a real and essential partner in achieving economic development."
